⚠️ Facilitators Only: The tools described in this article are only available to facilitator-level users. Learners will not see these options.
Edit Course
All course building happens inside Edit Course. To access it:
Navigate to the course you want to build.
Click Edit Course.
Finding Experiences in the Catalog
To add an experience to your course, click Add Lesson. This opens the experience catalog in a modal window — a pop-up that lets you browse everything available to you without leaving Edit Course.
Inside the catalog, you can:
Browse all available experiences by scrolling through the full list
Filter by categories like discipline, assessment type, disorder, and more to narrow down options that fit your course
Search by name or keyword to find a specific experience you already have in mind
Click on any experience to open a detail view with more information about what it covers, how it works, and what learners will encounter
Use the filters and search together to zero in on exactly what fits your course — or turn them off and browse freely to discover experiences you might not have considered.
Adding an Experience
Once you've found an experience you want to include:
Click on the experience to open its detail view.
Click Add.
That's it. The experience will appear in your course structure immediately. You can add as many experiences as you'd like while in Draft — just keep an eye on your product limit counters to make sure you stay within range before publishing
Removing an Experience
If you change your mind about an experience:
Find the experience inside Edit Course.
Click the trash icon to remove it from your course.
⚠️ If learners have already completed the experience you're removing, removing it will cause you and your learners to lose access to those results. Make sure you no longer need that data before removing an experience from a published course, or use Export Results to preserve learner records before deleting.
Organizing Your Course
Once you've added experiences, you can arrange them however works best for your learners — create modules, reorder lessons, rename things, and set scheduling dates. For a full walkthrough of those tools, see Editing Courses.
FAQs
I can't find the experience I'm looking for.
Try using the search bar to look it up by name, or use the filters to narrow down by the relevant category. If you still can't find it, reach out to your Genius Academy representative — they can help you locate it or confirm whether it's available in your package.
Can I view what an experience looks like before adding it to my course?
Yes — click on any experience in the catalog to open its detail view. For a fuller picture of what learners will actually experience, add it to your draft and try it yourself before publishing.
I don't see VCE as an option in the catalog.
That's expected. VCE sessions are always added by a Genius Academy admin. Contact your GA point of contact to coordinate.
Does removing an experience delete anything?
Removing an experience from your course doesn't affect the experience itself — it's simply no longer included in your course. However, if learners have already completed that experience, removing it will cause you and your learners to lose access to their results. If that data matters to you, don't remove it. You can always add the experience back through the catalog, but results from prior completions will not be recoverable.
